Ex- National Football League Athlete Antonio Brown Files Not Guilty Plea in Attempted Murder Trial

Ex- NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is returning to Miami to face an murder attempt charge stemming from a gunfire that happened in May, with his attorney filing a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Jail documents in Essex, New Jersey, indicate that Brown was discharged on Tuesday early for his move to the state of Florida. Brown, a highly popular figures in the National Football League, had relinquished transfer to Florida from New Jersey, where he was held after being apprehended in the city of Dubai.

Brown’s lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, stated in an communication that he has previously submitted a formal innocent declaration to the murder attempt charge. Brown could be in a Miami hearing as soon as Wednesday early for a release proceeding, Eiglarsh added.

According to his arrest order, Brown is accused of seizing a firearm from a safety guard after a star match event in May and shooting two bullets at a person he had confronted with previously. The reported target, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, told police that a bullet touched his nape.

Eiglarsh said that Brown was simply defending himself from Nantambu.

“The steps he was compelled to take were exclusively in defense against the reported victim’s violent behavior. Brown was targeted that night and responded within his rightful right to protect himself,” Eiglarsh stated.

Brown was not immediately apprehended because initially authorities did not consider Nantambu as a affected party. It only subsequently in May that Nantambu gave a detailed statement about the incident to police and pointed out Brown as the perpetrator, the report states.

Based on his digital updates, Brown had been living in Dubai for multiple period. In a message after the confrontation, Brown stated he was defending himself because he was “assaulted by numerous people who sought to rob my possessions and inflict physical damage to me.”

A second-degree attempted murder charge in Florida carries a maximum fifteen-year prison penalty and up to a $10,000 fee in the instance of a guilty verdict.

Brown has faced numerous judicial issues over the years. He previously had been alleged of battery of a truck employee, several domestic violence allegations, failure to pay parental support and additional occurrences.

During a recent contest with Tampa Bay against the opponents, Brown stripped off his jersey, shoulder pads and handwear and left the field, causing his termination by the franchise and effectively halting his NFL tenure.

Brown, who spent 12 years in the league, was an All-Pro receiver who spent most of his career with the Steelers. Throughout his career, Brown had over 900 receptions for more than 12,291 yards, the 28th highest of history. He was a multiple-time prestigious pick.
